DevOps Engineer
Friendly Captcha offers bot protection which is privacy-friendly and does not require the user to perform tasks such as clicking images of cars, making it accessible to all humans.
Bootstrapped
Founded in 2020, Friendly Captcha is a fully bootstrapped, profitable, growing business.
We are a mission-driven business first, and a fast-growth startup second.
We don't have the distracting goal of pleasing investors.
Vision
A safe internet accessible for all humans.
Human-first
We aim for sustainability, with a healthy work-life balance. We design our company to be around in 5 years.
A safe,
accessible internet.
Ordinary CAPTCHAs are a curse on the internet, with the biggest loser being the end-user.
We are on a mission to change that. We want to protect a billion human interactions with websites every day - without user annoying or excluding users.
At Friendly Captcha we're looking for a versatile DevOps engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate should have multiple years of experience building cloud infrastructure using modern best practices and tooling (IaC, GitOps, etc.). We are very much looking for someone who likes to design, iterate, learn and build - not only maintain.
Other than many larger companies, we don't have a separate platform team. We believe that the product informs the infrastructure, and also the other way around - not creating boundaries between these areas can be a strength of smaller companies.
A solid understanding of Linux, Docker, networking, and security is useful, and you should already be productive programming in Go.
Buzzwords aside, we value pragmatic, creative, and driven technology generalists, who know how to pick the right tool for the job.
Our engineering team is remote across Europe, consisting of 5 people. We're looking to grow the engineering team by one or two new team members over this calendar year.
Freedom and Trust
We aim for sustainability, with a healthy work-life balance. We believe that creative and talented individuals are self-organizing - you get the freedom to shape your work and time how you work best.
Our stack
Some key technologies in our stack are Linux, Go, Typescript, Postgres, Clickhouse, Redis, Terraform, and OpenTelemetry.
We see engineering as a way to build a great product, not as a goal in itself.
Unique for our company is that we offer an entirely EU-owned stack (so no AWS here). This is a big selling point for governments and EU companies.
Opportunity
Roles grow and evolve, especially in young companies. We look for those who enjoy learning new things and are not afraid to take ownership as they grow with the company.
Do you want to join our team? Then we'd love to hear from you!
